Rogue Manta Ray Adjustable Bench

Rogue’s Manta Ray Adjustable Bench introduces a new ladder-style, internal adjustment system that produces a clean aesthetic with fewer components than our Adjustable Bench 3.0 and even more incline/decline positions. Five seat settings (from -20 degrees to 30 degrees) and 10 back pad settings (0-85 degrees) give athletes 50 different potential configurations at their disposal, with laser-cut markings identifying each angle position in the steel tube.

We’ve also developed a new front foot construction—shaped like a manta ray—which preserves the advantages of a 3-leg bench design while ensuring greater overall stability when in the decline position. A round injection molded handle is built into this front foot, as well, making it easier to elevate and roll the 140LB unit via the included set of premium caster wheels.

A removable foot catch is available as an optional add-on, providing security for the user’s feet during decline movements.

Note: The Foot Catch from the AB-3 Adjustable Bench is not compatible with the Manta Ray.

The soft, durable pad on the Manta Ray Bench is a wider 12” (compared to 11” on the Adjustable Bench 3.0) and includes a grabber-style vinyl (the same vinyl used on our Thompson Fat Pad) exterior for a secure feel. With a minimal 1” gap between the seat pad and the back pad, athletes can program their functional presses and arm movements through a full range of inclines without dealing with the discomfort of a disjointed bench. Quality rubber feet are included standard, and a protective UHMW panel prevents the frame or bench pad from contacting the ground when the unit is stored upright. The steel frame comes finished in a MG Black or MG Red powder coat.

Please Note: The Manta Ray Adjustable Bench is a bolt-together unit and ships disassembled to allow for a reduced, flat rate shipping cost. It will require the following tools (not included) for proper assembly:

  • 3/4” Wrench or Socket
  • 7/32” Hex key / Allen wrench

Rogue Manta Ray Adjustable Bench Key Features:

New Ladder-Style Adjustments
1

New Ladder-Style Adjustments

The base of the Manta Ray Bench is our most streamlined to date, with adjustments made easily via a new ladder system that’s internal to the tube, minimizing the total number of parts involved. As an incline + decline weight bench, this model also offers more configuration options than any other Rogue bench, with 5 seat positions and 10 back pad positions, all indicated by laser-cut markings along the steel tube:

Seat Angles: -20, 0, 10, 20, and 30 degrees

Back Pad Angles: 0, 20, 30, 37.5, 45, 52.5, 60, 67.5, 75, and 85 degrees

Quality Rogue Construction, Superior Stability
2

Quality Rogue Construction, Superior Stability

Shaped like a manta ray (hence the name), the bench’s innovative front foot design improves the overall stability of the unit when used in the decline position, while still maintaining the benefits of a 3-leg format; namely, minimum interference with the athlete’s feet when benching. Each bench is manufactured in the USA, and includes a 3x4” 7-gauge steel frame, laser-cut Rogue branding, and a set of custom rubber feet for floor protection. The unit weighs in at 140 LBS and fills a 57” x 24.75” footprint. As a bolt-together bench, some assembly is required. A 3/4” Wrench or Socket and 7/32” Hex key / Allen wrench will be needed (not included).

Optional Foot Catch
3

Optional Foot Catch

A removable foot catch is also available as an optional add-on with the Manta Ray (at additional cost), providing security for the user’s feet during decline movements. This quality attachment features USA self-skinned foam rollers and in-house custom machined shaft collars.

Note: The foot catch from the Rogue AB-3 Adjustable Bench is NOT compatible with the Manta Ray.

Portability and Storage
4

Portability and Storage

Along with a convenient set of premium caster wheels, the Manta Ray Adjustable Bench comes with an injection molded handle built into the front foot, making it easier to elevate and roll the entire unit to a new location. Like our Adjustable Bench 3.0, the Manta Ray can also be stored in an upright position, with no need for an add-on bracket. When folded into this position, the unit sits on protective UHMW padding, preventing any direct metal contact or creasing of the bench pad.

Wider Pad + Minimal Pad Gap
5

Wider Pad + Minimal Pad Gap

The Manta Ray Bench comes with a new version of our standard pad, measuring 12” wide (compared to the 11” standard pad on the Adjustable Bench 3.0) and featuring a grabber-style vinyl exterior. The gap between the seat and back pad is roughly 1 inch, allowing athletes to program their functional presses and arm movements through a full range of inclines without dealing with the discomfort of a disjointed bench.

3 Colorway Options

Along with the original Medium Gloss Black frame finish, the Manta Ray is also now available to order with a new Medium Gloss Red base finish. Customers can select their preferred colorway from the purchase area.

Buy Once, Cry Once
# Bottom Line: This has to be the best home gym and commercial bench on the market. If you are thinking about getting this bench or are going to be lifting for the next 20-40 years, buy this bench and you'll never need another bench for the rest of your life. Neither will your luckiest child. You're going to save money by not buying something worse and upgrading a few times as you save more money and/or progress in your training maturity and want additional capabilities. It's the best bench I've ever used. Incline and decline options feel great. There's incredible stability. The grippiness of the pad is unmatched. It's easy to maneuver. It looks freaking awesome. I got a flat bench during covid lockdown when there were almost no options. This locked me into a decent mid-range flat bench for a long time because I couldn't justify buying another bench since my bench worked fine, and I didn't really NEED a new bench. I just wanted a FID bench to unlock more variations. Well I finally got this bench, and I'm mad I didn't get it sooner. It is soooo high quality. I'm never using my old flat bench again. # Pad Width: The width of the back pad is perfect - a wider 14 or 14.5" pad would cause me chaffing behind the armpits when doing incline presses or curls and an 11" width would feel too narrow. 12" is the sweet spot back pad width for me. (5'8" with wide shoulders) # Pad Gap I'm a very particular person. I don't like pad gaps. They bother me when using adjustable benches as a flat bench. The pad gap on this bench is perfect. It's possible to position the bench so that you don't lay on the gap when doing flat bench variations, but I don't even think about it because the gap is basically not noticeable if your butt rests on it. I'm not going to be using my old flat bench any more. # Handle I saw a review mentioning the handle is plastic. It's not; it's aluminum. The review also mentioned a knurled handle would be better. I respectfully disagree. The black handle with the white rogue lettering looks and feels extremely high quality and a knurled handle would cheapen this glorious bench. There's no way you will lose your grip on this. The metal is not slick and the fit and finish looks way more intentional than having a knurled handle. # Maneuverability I was initially a little concerned that this would be so heavy it would make using it and getting it set up a little cumbersome. My worry was for nothing. Due to the leverages and incredibly smooth wheels, this thing is so easy to maneuver and use.

Awesome Stability
Really wanted something stable and easy to adjust. I like the Nordic ability (with the foot catch) after playing with it a couple times. I'm using it as my only bench (aside from an IronMaster for leg extensions / curls) and it's an amazing upgrade. I can't wait for a leg developer attachment (looking hard at the upcoming DialedMotion one). I'd definitely recommend to friends who aren't on a budget for Gym gear!

Buy Once Cry Once
You’ll hear of so many cheap alternatives on the market. Trust me this bench is worth it. I decided to get my buy once, cry once bench after owning several other benches over the years. Naturally, I turned into Rogue as I’ve grown to trust the branch over the years for sturdy equipment. This bench was no exception. The Rogue Manta Ray is easily one of the best benches I’ve ever owned. With the optional foot rest, I am able to do decline situps. I weight 230 pounds and the bench simply does not move. My only qualm is that the bench showed some wear when I opened the box. Hopefully Rogue would make this right.

GYM My Home ROGUE .......Please
Nice.... I'm a big guy, Simi-GYM nerd, anytime I purchase workout equipment, first thoughts are stability, function and how fast will I get tired of it. $$$ is always a consideration, but if it’s worth it, swipe the card...NOW:) life is too short, enjoying well-built equipment over the years is my investment in health and life style.

This thing bleeds strong. Stout and Secure
This thing is beautiful! The aggressive decline I can get on sit ups is nostalgic to some raw gyms I trained at in the 90’s. As always stout as something made in Ohio should be. The pads were a pleasant surprise with its supportive and grippy texture while still being comfortable. Couldn’t be happier. Another great product from Rogue
