Rogue Ohio Lifting Belt

The Rogue Ohio Lifting Belt is handcrafted not to compete with the world of mass-produced, sporting-goods-store weightlifting belts, but to offer a stronger, longer-lasting alternative for customers serious about strength training and investing for the long haul.

Made from 10mm thick, vegetable-tanned American leather, this 4” wide belt offers firm, consistent support; easing stress on the back and helping in both the reduction of post-workout pain and the potential long-term prevention of more serious injury.

The Ohio Belt is available in five sizes (see Fit Guide), and includes a single-buckle design for quick, easy adjustments and a custom fit. The exact thickness of each belt may vary from slightly due to the properties of the leather. Users should also note that the belt, like any quality leather product, may require a brief “break-in” time for optimal contouring and comfort.

Professional Grade Support

Our Ohio Belt is manufactured with pride in Columbus, OH, using quality USA leather and the skills of our in-house craftsmen. Each belt measures 4” in width and approx. 10mm in thickness, providing firm, heavy-duty support with quick adjustments via the single prong buckle.

Vegetable Tanning

Vegetable Tanning

Derived from the all-natural cowboy method of tanning hides, the vegetable tanning process can take weeks to complete, versus the mere hours of modern sole tanning. The reward for this painstaking effort, however, is a firm, ultra-durable, water-resistant leather weight belt with a rich, natural brown tone. The vegetable tanning process means you'll receive a belt with a softer feel that is just as strong as the rest, with a break-in time that is nearly nonexistent.

Rogue Branding

The official ROGUE logo is stamped into the leather on the loop of the Ohio Belt, as well as across the back exterior portion.

Unbelievable quality - definitely a winner!
I've been lifting weights seriously for over 25 years, and have had many belts. I've had nylon belts, cheap leather belts, and still even use an old Valeo velcro one from the 1980s. Each belt has had its various issues - either too compliant and not enough support, or uncomfortably hard, or just a pain to buckle (I'm looking at you, you two pronged buckle b@st@rds!). This new offering from Rogue is just plain good. I've had it for about 3 weeks now, long enough to break it in and see its benefits. The leather is high quality, supple, and has a durable finish. I was able to break it in within just a week or so of use. It's wide enough to offer solid support, and rigid enough for the same - but still soft enough not to chafe you. I used it back to back with a cheap leather one I got off of amazon, and a velcro nylon one - definitely prefer this one the most, and was able to maintain a solid core much more effectively than with the other two. Not much else to say - its a belt! And it works great. Looks like it should hold up for a long time. If you are on the fence, don't be - it's worth it. BTW, I measured my waist at the belly button using a tailor's measuring tape at 34 inches, when a flexed core (pretending your under load), and the LARGE fits perfectly, using the middle hole.

Perfect
This belt is extremely well-made, feels as though it will last forever. Sizing is dead-on for the XL. Nice leather.

Smells as good as it performs
This belt is a blast from the past. The thick leather and perfect stitching is reminiscent of a belt that may have been found in the Golds Gyms of the 60's. And I have a feeling it'll only look better with wear and time. If you're looking at this belt you know what it's for and what it does. Added 20lbs to my back squat and 40lbs to my front squat. Buckle can get in the way if doing ground to overhead with a bar but I feel like most would. Only downside is it won't fit through the belt loops on my jean shorts.

well built, but awkwardly sized and uncomfortable
I bought this belt to Squat, DL, Press & Clean (5/3/1)after my Inzer forever belt disappeared. I've been squatting & dl'ing for 10 years. The belt is well built and solid. The fit is off - I ordered a M, but when I tried it on I was two notches from the end, so I returned it for the L. In the L, I'm three holes from from the other end, so there's almost 12" of loose belt that get its in the way when setting up for DL. It really messes with cleans. The belt is uncomfortable in both the squat and the dead lift, to the detriment of both lifts. In the DL, it rides up into my ribs and in the squat it makes me feel as though I'm herniating below the belt. I've played around with positioning, but after a month of lifts still can't get it right without adjusting my lifts. Back to Inzer for me.

Not a fanboy rave, promise
Alright, picked this up and I'm not going to say it was solely the belt that gave me a 15# PR on a back squat. It was probably more my programming but(!) the confidence in the lift from top to bottom (and back to top) was great. I haven't PR'd in a back squat in a while because of a lack of confidence. As for the construction, it's a big ass belt. It's made for lifting heavy shit. Not Grace, or 100 of anythings. Rogue makes great stuff, for sure.

Provides awesome stability & support! Definitely a must!
I've never been big into use belts but I decided to give it a shot to help me improve my heavier lifts. All I can say is WOW. The OHIO Belt made a huge difference in my core stability and allowed me to see results from the first time I put it on. Its such a versatile piece of equipment and I'm more than satisfied with my investment. If you're on the fence about buying this, don't be. It's worth every dollar. A+ in my book.

Great weight lifting belt!
This is the best weightlifting belt I have owned in terms of function and looks! I have obtained personal records in the deadlift, back, front, and overhead squats. The back support has also allowed me to better all shoulder to overhead lifts. A drawback is that buckle gets in the way when I power clean. I hope as I break the belt in, the front buckle will get more supple and not obstruct my clean movements. This is absolutely a great and wise purchase!
